How to Crochet a Lily of the Valley Flower?
Crochet Yarn
- embroidery cotton colour A = green, colour C = yellow
- crochet cotton Size #10 colour B = white.
Crochet Hook
- 1.5mm steel hook, 2mm steel hook.
Details of components
- shallow bell-shaped 6-tepals flowers on a stem
- white stigma and little yellow dots for the polen.
Crochet Pattern
Lily of the Valley Crocheted Tepals
Start: using 1.5mm hook and colour B, make 4ch, join with sl st, 1ch
R1: 6sc in the ring, join with sl st, 1ch
R2: inc to 12sc, join with sl st, 1ch
R3: 12sc, join with sl st, 1ch
R4: 12sc, join with sl st, 1ch
R5: 12sc, join with sl st, 1ch, turn
R6: [(1sc, 1hdc, 1dc) in next sc, (1dc, 1hdc, 1sc) in next sc] x 6 = 6 tepals. Fasten off B.
Stigma and Stamens Centre Piece
Start: using cotton Size #10 colour B and 1mm hook, make 6ch, 1 small clone knot and return to first ch with 5sl st = stigma. Change to colour C, fasten off B.
Using colour C and 1mm hook make (2ch, 1 big clone knot)x4 = 4 stamens. Keep the stigma in the centre, roll and join with sl st.
Stem (2pcs.)
Start: using A and 2mm hook, make 8ch, skip 1st ch, make sl st in next 9ch = 9sts. Fasten off A.
Main Stem
Start: using A and 2mm hook, make 3ch, join with sl st, 1ch
R1: work 3sc in spiral to cover a wire piece of 15cm (6inches). Dec to 2sts and continue for another 2cm (~1inch). Fasten off A.
Assembly
Stitch the little stems to the tip of two bells and the third bell to the tip of the main stem.
